Best Tiramisu Dessert

Okay, so I’m usually not the kind of person to say “this is the best…. cake or best dessert” because sometimes you can find better recipes and then that best was not so best. Well, If I don’t say best for this tiramisu recipe I would really be underestimating this dessert. 

I came across some tiramisu recipes that required the yolks to cook over a double boiler, etc.. The taste of the tiramisu doing that method didn’t really impress me (maybe it’s just that recipe, but if I never attempted to try it again it means, I didn’t really care for it). My search for a tasty and a cook-free tiramisu recipe ended when my friend had amazed me with this dessert. If you can beat and combine a few ingredients together along with some lady fingers then I am sure you can make tiramisu! This is truly a simple and yet tasty tiramisu dessert.

Ingredients for Tiramisu Dessert:

  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  •  8 oz Mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 1 tbsp rum *optional
  • 18 lady fingers (7oz) package

How to Make Tiramisu:

  1. Separate the yolks from the whites, into two different bowls.

2. Beat the yolks with sugar until pale and thick (about 3min); then add the mascarpone cheese and beat until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

3. Beat the whites until soft peaks form. Set aside.

4. Beat the heavy cream in a small bowl until stiff peak forms. Set aside.

5. In a large bowl, combine all three beaten mixtures and mix over low speed until smooth and creamy.

6. Soak lady fingers into the coffee and rum mixture and assemble into an 8 by 8-inch serving dish. (About 9 lady fingers for each layer.)

7. Spread half of the tiramisu cream over the fist layer and repeat with the second layer.

8. Dust a generous amount of cocoa powder over the top and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.
