Baked Crepe {Dutch Baby}

This so called “dutch baby” is like a baked crepe. It’s light, fluffy and slightly crispy with a moist inside. The inside reminds me of a crepe which was why I gave it that name. It’s very easy to make and is quite enjoyable.

I was given this recipe from Irina, who happens to be one of my Instagram acquaintances. She commented “you definitely have to try it” under her photo of this dutch baby and I can see what she meant. We really enjoyed it with our tea for breakfast. Thank you Irina_p19 for the recipe and for the idea to make this! Irina garnished hers with fruits and powdered sugar but I just happened to use powdered sugar alone. Since powdered sugar is used to garnish the baked crepe there is no need to add any additional sugar to the batter. This is a very light and airy dessert as the outside is slightly crusty and the inside is really moist. I highly advise to try this dessert with your cup of tea next time. Don’t forget to comment and rate below:)

NOTE:  Irina recently updated her “Dutch Baby” recipe. She reduced the butter to 1 tbsp (instead of 1 1/2 tbsp). Bakes in a 425 degree oven (instead of 400) and  the ingredients to the batter are; 2 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup flour and a pinch of cinnamon. Baking time is 15 min for this version. Just follow the steps above only adjusting the ingredients as mentioned.

  1. Wow, I’ve never seen a prettier dutch baby. One reason I follow food bloggers is for the presentation. And your photos are perfection.
