Chocolate Berry Crostata Recipe (Olive Garden Inspired)

After seeing this off the Olive gardens menu, I was inspired to make it thereof. This version has chocolate chips along with a blend of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries all wrapped in mini pie crusts.

Serve these with any melody of berries and omit the chocolate chips with nuts if you prefer. Use up the left over scraps to make additional crostata’s and serve with ice-cream and raspberry drizzle!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12 oz) pkg of any berry melody
  • 1 (14.1) pkg of two pie crusts
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Unroll and cut out anywhere from 4 1/2″-5″ circles from the pie crusts. (I used a small size bowl.)

2. Combine the cornstarch, frozen berries, and sugar. Set aside.

3. Sprinkle chocolate chips and spoon about 1/4 cup of mixture over the center of the crusts. Fold in the outer edges of the crust inwards, sealing in the filling.

4. Brush edges with milk and sprinkle with granulated sugar.

5. Bake in a preheated 375 F oven for 25-30 minutes.
